"Si Se Puede" by Herman Rodriguez (Latin artist from California)

"Si Se Puede" is a Traditional Mariachi single brought to you by Herman Rodriguez. Known mostly for Ranchero style ballads, the artist brings his views on the struggle of Immigrants in America to the table in this song. This "Corrido" has a warm and inviting melody and makes you feel right at home. Senor Rodriguez gives a strong and heartfelt vocal performance through waves of beautiful horns and fiddle. Regardless of your views on this subject, this is a wonderfull song. The B Side "San Jose de Mesillas" will get you on the dance floor with wailing horns, a bumping rhythm and and overall sense of fun. If you enjoy traditional Mexican music, you'll enjoy this CD.

"Rushing to the Wedding" by Eduardo Rocha (Latin artist from Connecticut (CT))

"Rushing to the Wedding" features the skillful compositions of Eduardo Rocha, with the wondrous contribution of Judy Simonds on the classical guitar. The CD is filled with many elements of latin american rhythms, as well as Reggae, Jazz, and Classical, with a modern flair. Eduardo is a superior and well-balanced guitarist who has a feel for mood and tone. Eduardo's compositions are very interesting and innovative. The recording quality and production nicely provide a crystal clear recording that allows the fantastic guitar work to cut through the tracks nicely. "In the Sunken Garden" leads things off and sets the table nicely with a jazz/lounge feel and memorable guitar work. Other highlights are "Memories of Old Spain," a flamenco number (appropriately enough) and "Giving Joy to the Streets," a beautiful classical piece. If you enjoy beautiful classical guitar work with a latin flavor, you'll enjoy this CD.
